Tk 95b agri loan to help increase output: 14.5pc higher than last year

The Government has asked the scheduled banks to lend up to Tk 95 billion against last years Tk 85.5 billion with a view to help increase production in agriculture sector considering the rise in food price, central bank sources said.
This year’s allocation is 14.5 per cent higher than previous year. Last year the Government set lending target at Tk 83 billion which exceeded immediately due to high demand of loan as well as high food price driven by two phases of floods and cyclone Sidr. [Read more]
