The overall flood situation in the country, affecting 13 districts in the north and the central region, has remained ‘alarming,’ the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) said today, warning that it may deteriorate further by next 2-3 days as the three major river systems have continued rising together.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, the Ganges-Padma and the upper Meghna, which carries the flows of the flooded rivers in Sylhet region near Bhairab Bazar are rising simultaneously, contributing to the worsening of the situation. [Read more]
