The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to recognise taxpayers through awarding them a tax payment certificate with a view to encouraging potential taxpayers.
To this effect the NBR has identified 320 top taxpayers from 64 districts to give them special status, NBR chairman Muhammad Abdul Mazid told a function in Munshigonj yesterday. Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed is scheduled to distribute the awards among the top taxpayers — five from each district (three for highest amount of tax payment and two for longest period of tax payment) - at a function at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city on September 15.
