The price of sugar has shot up by Tk 2 per kg in the city retail markets yesterday as the holy month of Ramzan is just a couple of days ahead.
A section of dishonest businessmen are used to hoard to create an artificial crisis to earn windfall profit during the month of Ramzan, market experts opined.
Within one-year the price of sugar has increased 26.79 per cent, they added.
They suggested the government to take necessary steps so that none could create any artificial crisis of sugar. [Read more]
