SAYS uncovers potentials of its fellows

South Asian Youth Society (SAYS) is a non-profit regional leading young change-makers platform working on human development, regional cooperation and socio-economic development activities registered in Bangladesh. It envisions building peace and prosperity in South Asia. On 3 June, 2016 South Asian Youth Society (SAYS) has finally revealed the names of fellows of Young Fellowship Challenge' 2015 -2016 and awarded them according to their contribution. SAYS continuously works towards nurturing the young minds of Bangladesh to lead the future.

It was an eventful award giving ceremony graced by the presence of two special guests Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury who is chief advisor of SAYS and Pro Vice-chancellor of Eastern University and advocate Harun -ur- Rashid. The Founder and President of SAYS Towfique Ahmed Khan was also present in the event to congratulate the members in this wonderful achievement. 

South Asian Youth Society (SAYS) focuses on five areas– youth empowerment, community development, civic education, active citizenship and youth for peace and prosperity in South Asia. Nandeeta Samad, Sadia Haque Jui, Md. Rakibul Islam, Md. Tamzid Hayder Tawrat Sikder, Tashfique Udin Chowdhury, Zannatul Ferdous Miftah and  Nayeem Ahmed from Bangladesh and Miss Srishti Dixit from India have achieved the prestigious Fellow title.

During the ceremony, members of different teams presented their fellowship journey and their contributions. One crucial attainment where SAYS fellows worked earnestly is the joint project of SAYS and Asian Foundation on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) titled 'Know Your SDGs'. The fellowship challengers also conducted survey for this project purpose in University of Dhaka and in other renowned institutions. This survey was conducted irrespective of majors of the students so that disparate knowledge, diversified standpoints and forward-looking propositions can be penciled in. 

On the event day, advocate Harun-ur-Rashid delivered his speech mentioning the pride he felt observing the achievements of the youths of Bangladesh. Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury spoke about the role SAYS is playing in breaking the ego among people created by themselves about studying in public or private institutions or subject variations and encouraged the fellows to address similar issues pertinent to the youths and society.
