The era of content marketing

With the advent of digital media and all sorts of online based platforms, traditional mass media channels are failing to bring potential customers and users for businesses. Specially, if the businesses are not selling product and services to the mass people, they have to rely on focused and specialised channels such as- digital media. In digital marketing channels, content marketing is playing the most crucial part. By definition, content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing relevant contents to gather and retain audience and customer.
In large scale, most of the content marketing jobs have been outsourced or in the process of being outsourced to developing economies like India, Pakistan and Philippines. This poses as a great opportunity for writers, freelancers and digital marketers to expand their income, expertise and client base. Writers who have the skills of interviewing, understanding the audience and ability to write for the specific audience, will easily find their skills are transferable to content marketing.
However, writing quality contents is a challenging task. So before exploring this buzzing area for freelance projects one needs to develop the right skills.  One can easily find the latest trending topics online to understand the needs of the market. For example- 'BuzzSumo' will provide all the latest trending topics available online. To measure and increase the effectiveness of one's contents, there are also free and fee-based platforms available that will come handy. Such an example of a platform will be 'Outbrain', which will intensify your contents, vlogs or information to your target market. In other words, the platform mainly promotes the content, in exchange for a fee. Interestingly, globally consumer brands are looking for unique writers who can have their own unique voice for representing those brands. There are websites such as Upwork and ClearVoice that connect these brands with professional content writers.
These marketing techniques are currently being used in Bangladesh. In fact, there is a venture named, 'Bizcope' operating in this field since 2010. Mr Nahid Hasan, the managing director of Bizcope has recruited teams for online marketing, graphics designing and content marketing who work collaboratively to promote brands of other companies. There is also NewsCred, which managed to raise USD 42 million according to their website, have now become massively popular in content marketing business. The company has adequate resources to deliver everything you need from the distribution of contents to editorial calendars.
All these B2B services are looking for potential writers who have the ability to generate entirely unique articles for their websites. The majority of these employers are hiring part-time writers who can write sitting inside their comfort zones while earning a minimum of BDT 7,000-8,000 every month. Moreover, the IT firms operating in Bangladesh are hiring full-time writers for at least BDT 15,000 per month. Some of the Bangladeshi freelancers are already in this field using platforms such as Truelancer. Nevertheless, Bangladesh has a huge scope of growing in this global content marketing industry. Low cost of labour in our country is one of the key elements that can give us competitive advantage to get global content marketing projects. Given the opportunities we have globally, Bangladeshi youths can easily turn themselves into good content marketers. Simply by reading and following blogs of other content writers, this skill can be acquired. Youtube also has a great range of video tutorials to learn from. It is just a matter of time and energy investment which can ultimately result in a great earning source for freelancers and digital marketing start-ups.
