Qatar to increase workers emigration from Bangladesh

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani Thursday said all-out efforts will be taken to increase the emigration of Bangladeshi workers to Qatar.

He said this when Bangladeshi Expatriates’ Welfare & Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc paid a courtesy call with him at his office, according to a press release of received in the city Thursday.

Nurul Islam conveyed the greeting message of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to her Qatari counterpart and invited him to visit in Bangladesh.

The Qatari Prime Minister praised the skills and works of Bangladeshi workers.

Wage Earners’ Welfare Board (WEWB) Director General Gazi Mohammad Julhash, Bangladeshi Ambassador to QatarSyed Masud Md Khandker and PS to Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister’s M Mohsin Chowdhury were present on the occasion.

On February 03, the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Wednesday joined a bilateral meeting with Qatari Administrative Development Minister Dr Issa Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi.

A decision was taken in the meeting that over 0. 3 million workers will be sent to Qatar in the next two years.

In this regard, a meeting of Joint Working Committee is expected to be held in the first week of March this year.

Nurul Islam, who was now in a three-day Official-tour in Qatar, will return to Dhaka on February 6, according to a news agency.
