Dhaka urges Ankara to boost bilateral trade

Dhaka Thursday called Ankara for giving a push to enhance bilateral trade and business through exchanges of business delegation in both the ways.

“There are enormous potentials to expand our bilateral cooperation further as Bangladesh and Turkey have been enjoying excellent relations,” said Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali.

The minister made the remarks when the new Turkish ambassador to Bangladesh Devrim Ozturk paid a courtesy call on him at his office here, foreign ministry sources said.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues of bilateral relations as well as different regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The envoy recommended that there is scope for cooperation in tourism and construction sectors where Turkey has vast experience and remarkable success.

Both sides agreed on holding the consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and meeting of the Joint Economic Commission in near future, the sources added, according to a news agency.
