Opposition BNP yesterday demanded that the Election Commission declare Major (Retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed elected MP from Bhola-3 constituency or hold re-election to the seat from among the three valid candidates who had contested the December 29 polls.
The High Court recently declared void the parliament membership of ruling Awami League candidate Maj (retd) Jasimuddin from the constituency.
BNP secretary-general Khandaker Delwar Hossain made the demand at a press briefing at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office in the afternoon. [Read more]
