Bangladesh Revenue Board seeks bank statement of ex-President by zeenews.com

Dhaka, May 02: The National Board of Revenue Wednesdaysought details of bank transactions made by former militaryruler H M Ershad in the last five years as part of a massiveanti-graft campaign of the military-backed interim government.

The private “BdNews24″ news agency said the NBR issued a letter asking all banks to submit statements of Ershad along with 20 influential businessmen by May 15.

“After assessing the income tax returns of those persons and businesses, it has been proved that they have more than one income source,” the letter said. [Read more]
