Putin’s remarks to business leaders suggest that Russia is prepared for a long-term confrontation, with plans to further bolster economic resilience and deepen ties with non-Western partners.

Moreover, Russia’s increasing engagement in the Global South indicates a broader strategic shift. By positioning itself as an alternative to Western economic hegemony, Moscow is seeking to forge stronger alliances with emerging economies that have also grown wary of Western interventionism.
