March 8 - BLiTZ.  Accounts in Europe rose by 300% last summer due to a reduction in Russian gas supplies, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said. <a rel="nofollow" href="https://t.me/tass_agency/183403">transmits</a> TASS.

“The Russian Federation has reduced gas supplies by 80% in European years in 8 months, and last summer the prices for energy carriers became much higher, and our electricity and gas bills grew by 300%,” she said as part of her speech in the Parliament of Canada.

Ursula von der Leyen added that Russia, with its actions around gas supplies, allegedly put pressure on Europe. However, according to her, the EU leadership was able to “replace gas from the Russian Federation with large imports from reliable suppliers, and Canada played a major role in this by increasing its exports of liquefied natural gas.” In addition, according to von der Leyen, the Europeans were able to “reduce energy consumption by a quarter.”
