Hillary Clinton’s cruel racial joke on the black people

Hillary Clinton has bombed an interview audience with a much-used racial joke, suggesting that all blacks “look alike.”

The audience responded with laughter.

But radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh says that’s only because as a Democrat she is given a pass for racial jokes.

“You let anybody else up there saying this stuff and they are finished!” he said Tuesday. “I mean it’s not even close.”

The joke, he said, came from “the woman who thinks she should have been president … the woman who can’t wait to run again in 2020.”

Her comment drew wide attention on social media:

Donald Trump Jr. reacted on Twitter: “Imagine @realDonaldTrump said the exact same thing in the exact same way. What would the media response be? Hysteria? Outrage? It would likely be beyond all that. Because I’m hearing crickets right now after Hillary said it. Wonder why.”

Clinton was being interviewed by Recode’s Kara Swisher, who asked: “What do you think of Cory Booker. … What do you think about him saying kick them in the shins.”

“Well, that was Eric Holder,” Clinton replied. “I know they all look alike.”

Some reports described Clinton’s comment as an “innocent wisecrack” or even an “inappropriate, yet [hopefully] playful, quip.”

NewsOne, which describes itself as a news site about blacks in America, said: “It was all quite awkward, and the Twitter fingers of seemingly every single right-wing troll got to typing as soon as they caught wind of it. Swisher was obviously at fault, coming off as unprepared for the high profile interview, confusing two black people who have each had very different roles in government. Maybe she was even clowning Swisher for her apparent ignorance. But Clinton, a seasoned political veteran should have been savvy enough to know better than to utter those fateful words, joke or not.”

NewsOne said Democrats “were likely bristling at Clinton’s choice of words, which came at a time when race relations around the country were seemingly at an all-time low, partially (mostly?) because of the man to whom she lost the 2016 presidential election.”

“It’s inexplicable why Clinton would decide to utter that combination of words to describe two powerful African-American men; even if it was a joke.”

The Daily Mail of London reported that following her comment, Clinton “then let forth a grin while members of the crowd of listeners burst into laughter.”
