Sean Spicer resigns as Trump\’s White House Press Secretary

Sean Spicer has reportedly resigned as Donald Trump's Press Secretary after the appointment of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as director of communications.
The President had asked Spicer to stay on, according to The New York Times, but he told the President that the appointment of Scaramucci was a major mistake.
Spicer's resignation comes after the US president also reshuffled his personal legal team, which is building the President's defence against allegations of collusion with the Russian government around the 2016 election, reports The Independent UK.
Jonathan Karl, the chief White House correspondent for ABC News, tweeted that when he went to ask Spicer a question about Scaramucci, the Press Secretary "slammed the door" in his face.
Minutes later, it was reported that Spicer had resigned.
Scaramucci, a Wall Street financier and longtime supporter of Trump, will replace Mike Dubke, who resigned from the job in May.
Dubke was the first prominent member of the President's communications staff to resign amid fallout from Russia-related scandals, including investigations into whether Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government.
