A businessman was killed in a road accident as a motorbike hit a road side tree on Laxmipur-Dhaka Highway at Jaksin Bazar of Laxmipur Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shamsur Rahman Shipon, son of Nurul Amin Khokon, a resident of Choupalli village of the upazila.
Lokman Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place when Shipon lost control over the bike and hit a road side tree, leaving him injured.
Shipon was sent to Noakhali General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, OC added, according to UNB.
