Maruf\’s ton spurs Prime Bank win against Victoria SC

Prime Bank Cricket Club jumped up to the top slot from 2nd in the 4th Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) securing an emphatic 130-run victory against Victoria Sporting Club in the 4th round game at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) ground -4 in Savar on Thursday, reports UNB.
Prime Bank skipper-cum-opener Mehedi Maruf guided his side hammering a century of 101 runs on their innings collection to 283 for all in 49.4 overs.
Man of the match Maruf played an innings of 103 balls to feature 12 boundaries and two over boundaries, for the side was sent in to bat first.
Asif Ahmed (37 off 41b; 2×4) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (33 off 34b; 2×4) were the 2nd and 3rd highest scorers for the winners.
Monir Hossain captured three wickets for 44 runs in 10 overs while Moinul Islam, Islamul Ahsan and Rubel Mia took two wickets each for 36, 49 and 56 runs respectively.
In reply, Victoria SC collapsed with 153/10 in 33.5 overs where Shafiul Hayet was the top scorer with 42 off 62 balls, including six boundaries.
Nasiruddin Faruque and skipper Monir Hossain added 27 and 25 runs respectively.
Ariful Haque bagged three wickets for economic 14 runs in 2.5 overs. Al-Amin Hossain took two wickets for 14 runs in four overs while  Al-Amin, Nazmul Islam, Taibur Rahman and Nahidul Islam took one wicket each for the side.
In another match, Mohammedan Sporting Club skipper Raqibul Hasan's unbeaten 76 helped his side set the tune to back in the form with a four-wicket win against Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Mohammedan SC chased down a target of 190 for 6 in 44.5 overs after restricting Khelaghar SKS 189 for all in 45.4 overs.
Man of the match Raqibul played till the end of the innings to face 92 balls, witnessing six boundaries and three over boundaries.
Indian left-handed batsman Abhinav Mukund (35), wicketkeeper batsman Rony Talukdar (27), opener Shykat Ali (20) and Taijul Islam (not out 14) were the other double-digit scorers for the winners.
Robiul Islam Robi showed an all-round performance for Khelaghar SKS making (63 off 73b; 7×4; 1×6) a half century with bat as opener and captured three wickets for economic 20 runs in six overs with ball. Amit Majumder (53 off 62b; 2×4; 2×6) hit another half century for Khelaghar SKS while skipper Nafees Iqbal, who elected to bat first after winning the toss, stayed for 19 runs and Masum Khan added unbeaten 16.
