The man, arrested on charge of attacking a police team on Sunday night from a house at Jurain in the city, has been identified as a member of the explosive unit of banned Islamist outfit Huji.
The detained injured Huji member was identified as Mohammad Siddique, said Sanwar Hossain, assistant commissioner for bomb disposal unit of Detective Branch of Police. At least eight policemen were injured in the bomb attack.
Meanwhile, state minister to home Shamsul Haq Tuku said that political parties might have instigated the terrorist attacks on the police. [Read More]
