Some 80,000 pieces of notebooks and guidebooks of different classes from Class VI to IX were seized from a private depot at Helatala in the city Thursday, as the government has proscribed these made-easies.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of RAB-6 raided a godown at about 12:30pm and recovered the unauthorized books worth about one-crore taka. The crackdown was underway till the filing of this report at about 2:55pm.
None was, however, arrested in connection with this clandestine education commerce. [Read more]
