Nine people, including a six-month-old baby boy, were killed and 60 injured as two buses collided in a fatal accident on the Tangail-Dhaka highway in Mirzapur upazila yesterday afternoon.
Conductors of both the buses were killed in the head-on collision. They are Sonwar Hossain, 27, and Khasru Miah, 45. Two others among the deceased were identified as six-month-old Rifat and Dhalu Mian. Police said a Dhaka-bound bus collided with another bus coming from the opposite direction at about 3:30 pm, leaving five people dead on the spot and injuring 64 others. [Read more]
