BNP chairperson and leader of the opposition in parliament Begum Khaleda Zia will visit Sirajganj today to see the plight of hardcore people of some areas at sadar upazila.
She is scheduled to meet the poverty stricken people at Baoaitara, Paikpara, Diara and WAPDA dam areas at sadar upazila of the district.
She will also distribute relief items among them on the Sirajganj town-protection embankment along the Jamuna River.
Starvation of many poor people on the Eid day touched Begum Zia deeply and prompted her to go there to see for herself their plight, party sources said. [Read more]
