A mugger was shot dead in a gunfight between his accomplices and police in the capital’s Pallabi police station area yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Taiyab, 35.
Abdul Malek officer-in-charge Pallabi police station told the New Nation that a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Hafizur Rahman, 30, was also injured while he was passing through the area.
Police said four muggers, riding on two motorcycles, waylaid a woman to snatch her purse near Mirpur Circle-10 at about 1:30pm.
The snatchers opened a blank shot as the woman resisted them. [Read more]
