British Minister for Security and Counter-Terrorism Lord West arrived here yesterday on a three-day official visit to Bangladesh.
Lord West is visiting Bangladesh to attend a UK-Bangladesh Joint Working Group meeting aimed at enhancing counter-terrorism co-operation between the two countries, according to the British High Commission in Dhaka.
The visit is a follow-up of the announcement made by former British Home Secretary Ms Jacqui Smith, during her visit to Bangladesh in April 2008, that the UK and Bangladesh would form a “Joint Working Group” to carry out closer anti-terrorism operations. [Read more]
