The pilots and crew of GMG Airlines went on work abstention yesterday morning for indefinite period to press for payment of their salary arrears, in what happens to be the first instance of strike in a private airline in the country.
No domestic or international flights of the airlines had operated since morning, causing immense sufferings to the passengers, said Zia International Airport sources in the afternoon.
GMG Airline was scheduled to operate flights to Kolkata, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai on international routes while Chittagong, Sylhet and Jessore on the domestic front. [Read more]
