State Minister for Home Affairs Tanjim Ahmed yesterday warned that the government would have taken tough action against plotters on any civil unrest over power cuts and water crisis.
His remarks came after electricity-deprived residents in Araihazar of Narayanganj Tuesday damaged two power sub-stations and a police check post, protesting against frequent electricity cut.
“If any quarters attempt to deteriorate law and order situation of the country in the name of water and power crisis, they will be handled strictly,” he told reporters yesterday after a meeting at the ministry. [Read more]
