Food and Disaster Management Secretary Dr Mohammad Aiyub Mia yesterday said more Taka 30 crore has been allocated from the Chief Adviser’s Relief Fund for construction of houses in the cyclone-affected areas.
Addressing a press briefing at the conference room of the Food and Disaster Management Ministry, he said the ministry is allocating Taka 10 crore from its 35-crore budget under the disaster risk reduction programme for the worst-affected four districts.
The allocation will be enhanced later, he said and added the affected families would be able to resume economic activities with this assistance. [Read more]
