The Election Commission (EC) will communicate with the government when the voter list with photographs and preparations for holding the election are completed.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr Shamsul Huda yesterday informed the leaders of Shamyabadi Dal during a dialogue on electoral reforms at his office in the city.
The EC wants to hold a free and fair election by 2008, the CEC said adding, “We are confident that there will be no deviation from the election roadmap.”
General Secretary of the Shamyabadi Dal Dilip Barua led a 10- member delegation at the dialogue. [Read more]
