The National Revolution and Solidarity Day will be observed today commemorating the 1975 uprising staged by people and soldiers amid a topsy-turvy on the country’s political arena.
On this day in 1975, the protestors foiled a “conspiracy” against the national independence and sovereignty and freed the then chief of army staff, Ziaur Rahman, from captivity in Dhaka cantonment. The 7th November is a public holiday.
To mark the day, BNP and its front organizations have chalked out programmes, including milad mahfil and offering fateha at Zia’s mazar. [Read more]
