Terming the EC invitation to Saifur-Hafiz of the BNP as an outcome of ‘doctrine of necessity’ Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr ATM Shamsul Huda yesterday said they have not decided to invite the other faction led by Khandaker Delwar.
“We did not think it would be wise to invite both the factions,” he told journalists in reply to a question at a briefing where he justified the Election Commission’s Monday’s invitation to reformist faction that BNP Acting Chairman M Saifur Rahman and Acting Secretary General Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed to sit for the dialogue on electoral reforms after November 22.
