UK provides $2.5m aid for flood victims

The United Kingdom has given US$ 2.5 million of immediate aid for the flood victims responding to the current floods in Bangladesh.
The aid money, approximately Tk 17 crore, will be spent for providing food, water, shelter and medicines for 50,000 people in the ten worst-affected districts and special assistance through the chars
livelihoods programme.
The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is
supporting the Bangladesh government’s ongoing relief work,
channeling US$1.5 million aid through UNDP. [Read more]
