BAT Bangladesh has won the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA) 2017 in "Social Empowerment" category from Enterprise Asia for its community project - Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Club educating farmers on sustainable agriculture. BATB's Non-Executive Director, K. H. Masud Siddiqui and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Anowarul Amin received the award in a ceremony held in Thailand recently, said a statement.
BATB initiated the IPM Club Approach in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) since 2005. The objective is to educate farmers on overall farming techniques of all types of crops and promote the application of non-chemical alternative methods to protect their crop from pesticide as well as to protect the environment.
