Use drops, still Facebook top site in Bangladesh

The use of Facebook has declined by 5.0 per cent to 59 per cent among the Bangladeshi users in 2017, but still keeping its top position followed by Google and Youtube.
The findings revealed Tuesday were based on a recent survey conducted by Kantar Millward Brown on 1,000 random internet users around the country.
The survey was conducted to understand the brand health of all the internet sites in Bangladesh.
During the survey, when respondents were asked about their most preferred and frequently visited sites on the internet, Facebook was their top most mentioned brand, followed by Google and Youtube.
However, it was remarkable to find Bikroy being the 4th most mentioned "Top of Mind" brand for all internet sites in the country over giants like Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.
While Google and Youtube managed to improve their top of mind share from last year, Facebook and Bikroy along with a few other sites showed a decline.
In 2016, the share of Facebook was 64 per cent, while the share of Google was 15 per cent, Youtube 5.0 per cent which has increased to 9.0 per cent in 2017, and Bikroy.com 6.0 per cent which has declined to 3.0 per cent in 2017, the survey report showed.
Other sites like Ekhanei.com, OLX and Flipkart has 1.0 per cent share with no major changes.
