Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have set up check-posts in different city areas to curb crimes such as snatching, robbery and subversive acts, reports BSS.
The measure has been taken as part of the initiative to strengthen security and ensure different facilities for the city dwellers.
DMP personnel have searched 868 private cars and microbuses, 714 motorcycles, 602 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 365 different other vehicles in the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Saturday. Legal action was taken against 17 vehicles on various charges, the release said adding that DMP would continue the search with setting up of check posts to ensure overall security. [Read More]
