A three-day Moumela (bee-fair), first of its kind in Bangladesh, will begin in the city today (Sunday), said an official release Saturday, reports BSS.

The agriculture ministry and the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) are jointly organising the fair on the city's Krishibid Institution premises.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest while Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury will be the special guest.

The bee-fair is being held in the country to increase production of honey and in compliance with the government's pledge of ensuring food security.

As part of the programme, a press conference will be held at the DAE conference room at 12 noon today (Sunday), according to BSS./Jannatul
