Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel in separate drives arrested an alleged female drug peddler along with 550 grams of hemp and recovered one shooter gun and two rounds of bullets from Mandalgati area in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Monday.

Major Abdullah Al Mehedi, company commander of RAB-6 Jessore camp, said tipped off that a gang of criminals were staying at Madhyapara in the area a team of the elite force conducted a raid there in the dead of night, according to a news agency report.

Sensing the presence of the RAB members, the criminals fled the scene leaving their firearms at the place.

Later, the elite force members recovered one shooter gun and two rounds of bullets from the spot.

Meanwhile, the elite force members conducted another drive at the house of Anwara Begum in the area and arrested her along with 550 grams of hemp.

A case was filed in this connection.
