Mandela Leaves $4 Million to Family, Staff, Schools, ANC

Executors of Nelson Mandela's will say he left an estate of about $4.1 million, with the money going to family, staff members, schools he attended, and South Africa's ruling party.

One of the executors, South Africa's Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke, summarized the will for reporters Monday in Johannesburg after the contents were read for Mandela's family.

A large amount of the money will go into a trust for children, grandchildren and other relatives from each of Mandela's three marriages.

Sums of about $4,500 were left for certain staff members, including his secretary. He left about $9,000 to each school he attended, plus two schools in areas where he lived.

Moseneke said he knew of no challenges to the will.
