UN Envoy Pledges to Lobby for More Aid for Darfur

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos pledged Wednesday to lobby for more funding for humanitarian operations in Darfur after visiting the largest internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in North Darfur.

The camp has seen an influx of 300,000 IDPs since the start of the year, and is short of food and water.
