China Mine Blast Kills 28

Chinese officials say a gas explosion at a coal mine has killed at least 28 people.

Officials are investigating the cause of the blast at a state-owned mine outside the city of Baishan in northeastern Jilin province.

The official Xinhua News Agency said 13 people were rescued from the mine.
