Pakistani officials say a search is underway for more victims of avalanches that have killed at least 11 soldiers and civilians in a remote outpost in the mountainous Kashmir region.

Officials said on Saturday at least nine people were missing, including members of a rescue party who were hit by another slide as they searched for victims of Friday’s avalanche.

Avalanches and landslides are common Kashmir, which is divided between Pakistan and neighboring India.
