26 SOEs to get ultimatum for offloading shares

BSS, Dhaka

The Finance Ministry is giving 26 state-owned enterprises (SoEs) an ultimatum for offloading their shares soon to help stabilise the stock market by increasing supply of good issues.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith told reporters yesterday that his ministry would sit with the top officials of the 26 SoEs to fix a final date for share offloading.

Muhith also discussed with the DCCI team about tax relief, VAT (value added tax) and CSR (corporate social responsibility) and providing power and gas connections to new industries and houses.
