Eviction of illegal encroachers from the four out of six canals in the capital city Dhaka by the end of October, a dateline set earlier by the government, has miserably failed.
The national task force, formed with a view to preserve navigability of rivers and other watercourse, instructed the concerned authorities to free the six canals in the capital and its surrounding areas from the land grabbers and evict all illegal structures from those canals. The six canals are Katashur, Kalyanpur- A and Kalyanpur- C, Shyampur, Ramchandrapur and Hazaribagh. [Read More]
