Police yesterday arrested 20 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, including a former lawmaker of the party, in the city’s Mirpur area along with six handmade bombs, one kg of explosive substance and a large number of Jihadi books.
The arrested include Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat and a former lawmaker of Godagari upazila in Rajshahi Professor Mujibur Rahman and Khulna city Nayeb-e-Ameer Shafiqul Alam. The identities of others could not be ascertained immediately. [Read More]
