Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Shipping at a meeting yesterday expressed its satisfaction over restoring normal situation in the Chittagong Port after army deployment.
The meeting, held at Sangsad Bhaban with its chief Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury Liton in the chair, termed the initiative of the ministry to overcome the stalled situation in the port a time-befitting one.
The committee was informed that there was no alternative to imposing section 144 and deploying army at Chittagong Port to overcome the impasse that continued for six days. [Read More]
