Locals have dubbed the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road as ‘marketplace for drugs,’ as dealers and users throng it even in broad daylight.
Drugs are sold in every nook and corner of the closest city (some 15 kilometre) to the capital.
The locals have complained that the police do nothing despite being well aware of the situation. Meanwhile, the police, admitting their helplessness, said they cannot control the drug dealing single-handedly.
There are also accusations against the police that they have hands behind the drug trades and that they get regular incentives from the dealers. [Read More]
