Oliullah Noman, special correspondent of Amar Desh, was released after serving one month imprisonment from the Central Jail on Thursday.
Noman was the first journalist in the country to embrace imprisonment in a contempt case.
Accompanied by his professional colleagues, journalists’ leaders, lawyers and civil society members, Noman came out of Dhaka Central Jail at about 10.00 am.
BFUJ president Ruhul Amin Gazi, noted columnist Syed Abul Maksud, deputy editor of Amar Desh Abdal Ahmed, city editor Zahed Chowdhury, lawyers and family members were present at the jail gate to receive him. [Read More]
