Election Commission (EC) can’t declare ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon winner in Chandpur-1 constituency, Election Commissioner Brig Gen (Retd) M Shakhawat Hossain has said.
He said this yesterday following an appeal made by Najmun Nahar Beby, wife of Milon, to declare the nearest rival as the winner after EC had declared the constituency vacant on Wednesday.
Milon was former state minister in the four-party alliance government and the nearest contestant of Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the last national election.
