Unidentified assailants stabbed Monirul Islam Moni, an Awami League lawmaker from Barisal-2 (Ujirpur-Banaripara) constituency, in the divisional headquarters yesterday.
Police arrested Reaz Hawladar, 28, son of Lehajuddin, a resident of Hospital Road area in this connection.
Moni was taken to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital around 8:45 am. “The MP is out of danger,” SM Nazrul Islam, a doctor of the hospital said.
