A large number of new industrial units awaits commissioning as the government fails to provide those with gas and power, stakeholders say.
The inadequacy of gas and power is badly hampering industrialisation in the country squeezing the scope of generating employment. Solution to this problem of unemployment thus becomes a distant cry.
Stakeholders say that supply of necessary gas and power to the existing industrial units can help raise export earnings by US$5 billion yearly. A large portion of capacity of the existing industrial units remains unused due to the gas and power shortages, they said. [Read More]
