Instead of awarding contract to a Chinese contractor, the Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase Thursday decided to take further opinion of Prof. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury regarding the repair of cracks in the Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge.
“Neither we accepted the contract award proposal, nor rejected it.
Instead, we deferred it and decided to seek further opinion of Prof. Jamilur Reza since he is the best expert available. He conducted the first investigation into the cracks,” Finance Minister AMA Muhith told reporters after the Cabinet body meeting. [Read More]
