The election of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) will be held at a convenient time between mid-September and mid-November, while the Union Parishad (UP) and Municipal (Pourasabha) elections in December and January.
Election Commissioner Sohul Hossain said this while he was talking with reporters at his Sher-e-Bangla Nagar office in the city yesterday.
Referring to the previous announcement of local government’s possible election dates in November-December, he said due to the hajj and annual examinations of the primary and secondary schools, it would not be possible to arrange elections during the period. [Read More]
