Marine scientists in recent years have noticed increasing number of shoals in the Bay of Bengal, what they believe is forming due to turbulence of water surge.
“Unusual movement of water within the deep sea may be the reason of formation of increasing number of shoals under the water,” said Dr M Zafar Alam, professor, Institute of Marine Science, University of Chittagong.
Climate change induced disasters like cyclone and earthquake also may be the reasons of this change under the sea water, he added.
These shoals are visible during the monsoon and post-monsoon but disappearing aftermath. [Read More]
